If you have always wanted to find out more about the house you live in but haven’t been sure where to start there is help at hand at Peterborough Cathedral on Saturday the 3rd of March. Broadcaster, historian and author Dr Nick Barratt will be running a House History Masterclass on that day. Starting at 1.30pm and finishing at 4pm this free (yes FREE!) session will help you get started on researching the place that you live in. Doddington Hall’s Annual Spring Bulb Pageant got underway on Sunday 12 February and runs every Sunday until the 8th of April. You can enjoy the first of their Spring Bulb offerings as the Doddington Gardens open for the first time this year. You’ll find snowdrops in the Walled and Wild Gardens every Sunday through February and a delightful display of Heritage Daffodils in March. It’s probably going to be a bit cold to go to a zoo this half-term, but there’s a great opportunity to look for some interesting animals in an unlikely setting. Lincoln Cathedral has a wealth of animals in wood, stone and in stained glass and many of them have interesting stories behind them.
